Microsoft’s new Chromium-powered Edge browser

Late last year, Microsoft announced that they were going to switch Edge over to the Chromium Blink rendering engine. Edge-based on Chromium will be available in preview later. Microsoft now introduce an Insider program for Microsoft Edge. You can join them by clicking the link to the insider program here.

What’s New in Chromium Edge browser:

  • Now you can install any Chrome Extension into Edge.
  • Based on the open-source Chromium Blink engine instead of proprietary EdgeHTML rendering engine.
  • The UI of Chromium Edge looks comfortable and familiar to Chrome now.
  • You can enable the same flags as in Chrome by typing “Edge://flags/” into address bar.
  • New Edge Browser is going truly cross-platform meaning it will available for MacOS, Linux & Chromium.
  • Youtube loads faster now.
